President Donald Trump has confirmed that the White House will host a UFC fight in 2026. He made the statement during a speech at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Thursday.
The event will be part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations.
According to Trump, this fight will be unlike anything previously staged on government grounds. “We’re going to have some incredible events, professional and amateur. But the UFC fight will be a big deal,” he said to a cheering audience. Organizers expect to accommodate nearly 25,000 spectators on the South Lawn.
Despite the announcement, the UFC and its president Dana White have not confirmed the event. Trump, however, shares a long-standing friendship with White.
Over the years, he has appeared at several major UFC events, including UFC 302, 309, and 314. Most recently, Trump was seen sitting ringside in Miami, alongside White during the main card.
Furthermore, Dana White introduced Trump at the 2024 Republican National Convention, underscoring their close political and personal ties. Given this strong relationship, many analysts believe the UFC will likely consider the proposal seriously.
