District East’s labour unions demand to withdraw 30 illegal recruitments

KARACHI: The labour unions of the district east have demanded to withdraw 30 types of recruitments, declaring them illegal.

According to details, the labor unions of District East have penned down letters to Municipal Commissioner in this regard. In the letters, the labour unions have claimed that 30 recruitments in the Eastern Municipality and promotion of an officer in DMC East are illegal.

In separate letters, the United Workers Front and the People’s Labor Union argued that an 11th-grade employee had been illegally promoted to 16th grade. For Grade 16, other senior employees who were waiting for promotion as per the seniority list were ignored.

“While ignoring the district domicile, the employees of the local body have been deprived of their rights and non-natives have been appointed illegally,” the letter read.

The labour unions have also mentioned a DMC East employee, named Mohammad Amir Aziz, who has been working as a contract employee in 2 places simultaneously in District East for the past 5 years and was also appointed illegally.

In the letter, the labour unions hoped that the chairman and the municipal commissioner would take immediate action against all illegal activities in the DMC East.
