Prior to her entry into films, Parineeti also pursued a low-key career as a Yash Raj Films (YRF) PR consultant. Even her cousin Priyanka Chopra’s 2010 Pyaar Impossible saw her handle the PR, as reported by Indian media.
According to Pinkvilla, as a part of her experience at YRF, Parineeti also worked in the background and contributed toward the success of films like Band Baaja Baaraat, whose PR work she conducted for Anushka Sharma. This experience later culminated in her own acting experience with YRF.
At the time, Anushka Sharma had already made a name for herself in Bollywood with a dream debut in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She followed it up with Badmaash Company (2010) and the critically acclaimed Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), which turned out to be a career-defining film for her.
The movie’s success not only cemented Anushka’s position in the industry but also proved to be a crucial project for Parineeti, who was working in the PR department, handling promotions and media interactions for the film.
Parineeti’s time at YRF also gave her a keen eye for the ways of Bollywood and her passion for acting grew. At the insistence of director Maneesh Sharma, who directed the film Band Baaja Baaraat, Parineeti started going for auditions.
It ended with her debut in the Bollywood film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), when she played the role of a supporting actor with Anushka Sharma. Her work won her a Filmfare Best Female Debut, the stepping stone for her bright professional life.
Following her debut, Parineeti climbed the ranks in Bollywood. She starred in hit films like Ishaqzaade (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), and Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), earning recognition for her performances. As Anushka went from strength to strength with films like Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and PK (2014), Parineeti found her niche in Bollywood, from being a PR exec to being a leading actor in the industry.
