Details have emerged regarding the case filed by the landlord against Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar, who was found dead on July 8 in a flat located in Defence Phase 6, Karachi.
A report, citing recently surfaced documents, claims that a rental dispute between Humaira Asghar and the landlord had been ongoing since 2019.
According to the report, a rental agreement between Humaira Asghar and the landlord was signed on December 20, 2018. Upon the agreement’s completion, the landlord asked her to vacate the flat.
The documents state that the landlord claimed Humaira Asghar failed to pay the agreed 10% annual rent increase. As a result, she was sent the first notice to vacate on June 3, 2021, followed by a second notice on June 17. Additionally, she failed to pay PKR 40,000 during 2019 and 2020.
This outstanding amount increased to PKR 92,400 by 2021 and reached PKR 535,084 by 2024. Despite receiving multiple court notices, Humaira Asghar did not submit a response. On September 21, 2023, the court ordered the flat to be vacated, and on March 26, 2025, it issued an order for execution of the eviction.
Furthermore, on July 8, when the landlord arrived to take possession of the flat, Humaira Asghar’s dead body was discovered inside.
