During Microsoft’s 50th anniversary celebration, employees staged a protest against Israeli atrocities in Palestine, as reported by national media.
According to a report by Geo News on Sunday, the protest began while Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman was speaking about new updates and the future vision of the company’s AI assistant “Copilot”.
During the event, some employees protested, and a female employee of Microsoft, Ibtihal Abu Saad, approached the stage and said: “Mustafa, you should be ashamed. You say you want to use AI for good, but Microsoft is supplying AI weapons to the Israeli army. 50,000 people have been killed, and Microsoft is enabling this genocide in our region.”
Responding to her protest, CEO Mustafa Suleyman said, “Thank you for your protest, I’ve heard you.” To this, the protesting employee replied, “There is blood on your hands, all of Microsoft’s hands are stained with blood.”
Microsoft founder Bill Gates and former CEO Steve Ballmer were also present at the event during the protest in support of Palestine, as stated by the report.
