Children with Type-1 Diabetes will get insulin delivered directly to their homes at the direcitves of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The provincial authorities are set to launch ‘CM’s Insulin Programme’ that will ensure compliance with cold chain protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs). In first phase, it will start in three districts, including Lahore, where type-1 diabetes patients can apply for insulin delivery via a dedicated app or helpline.
CM Maryam said special cards will be made to ensure supply of insulin to sick children in effort to improve healthcare access.
She also approved development of a performance management framework and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate healthcare staff performance, along with the establishment of laboratories in hospitals across Mianwali, Jhang, Layyah, Attock, and Jhelum.
The announcement was made on ‘International Girls’ Day’ in which Maryam Nawaz praised daughters as source of Allah’s mercy, calling them future of nation. Punjab government is following the best roadmap for the protection, education, health and welfare of girls and women.
She added courage, determination, and potential of girls can transform the world, and mentioned projects like e-bikes, virtual police stations, and scholarship programs for women empowerment.
