DG ISPR says those who doubted army’s role should answer now

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Saturday criticised those who had been questioning the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces, asking, “Where are those now who used to defame the army, alleging it was not doing its job?”

He held a special interactive session with students and teachers in Islamabad, during which he highlighted the crucial role of youth in building the nation and called for unity against hostile forces.

In a pointed reference to critics, the DG ISPR questioned those who once doubted the army’s commitment: “You used to say we weren’t doing our job. Ask them today — did the army do its job or not? Shouldn’t they now be held accountable?”

He went on to say, “Who were you to speak against the officers and soldiers of your own army? The Pakistan Army and the people are inseparable.”

Terming the youth’s contribution to the country as “vital,” the DG ISPR emphasised the need for national cohesion in the face of external threats. He said Pakistan is a land of peace, and any victory for Pakistan is essentially a victory for peace.

The military spokesperson also paid tribute to teachers across the country, saluting them on behalf of the Pakistan Army for their role in shaping the future of the nation.

Expressing gratitude for the students’ unwavering support, DG ISPR remarked, “Seeing your love, I can confidently say that Pakistan’s future is bright and secure.”

Calling students the real “iron wall” of the country, he said, “This generation will never back down from defending the motherland.”

Blaming India for backing terrorism in Pakistan, the DG ISPR said, “We now have to collectively turn this iron wall towards defeating terrorism. When the people and the army are united, no terrorist can survive in this country.”

He ended his speech by reiterating solidarity with Kashmir, proclaiming, “Kashmir will become Pakistan.”

Earlier, in an exclusive interview with IRNA, the DG ISPR praised Iran’s diplomatic efforts in de-escalating tensions in the region, calling for continued cooperation between brotherly countries to maintain peace and stability in South Asia.

He stressed that certain forces, aided by external elements, are trying to sow discord among friendly neighbours. “We must remain vigilant of those who seek to create misunderstandings between brotherly nations,” he cautioned.
