QUETTA: Balochistan is the worst hit province in the ongoing monsoon torrential rains as the devastation of heavy rainfall continued on Saturday. So far, 58 people including women and children have died in flash-flooding and collapsed houses, while link roads being swept away, bridges collapsed, cracks appeared in dams, trees uprooted, and power supply system got damaged.
Due to heavy rains last night, mud houses collapsed in Kohlu, a bridge was swept away in a relay at Sonari in Mawand, Kohlu has lost ground connection with Balochistan including Quetta. Several districts of Balochistan including Zhob, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Pishin, etc faced massive devastation.
A boy died in Washuk district as heavy rains caused a tree to fall while cracks appeared in the Kandi Dam located between Pishin and Qila Abdullah and people started migrating to safe spots as a preemptive measure.

According to the data released by Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 58 people including 22 women and 24 children have so far perished in rain-related incidents while 48 were injured.
Some 436 cattle were swept by floods in different areas.
The ravages of torrential rains also include the collapse of 670 houses and damage to five bridges and a highway.
PDMA Director General (DG) Naseer Ahmed Nasir said the relief operation was underway in the rain-affected areas.
The authority has also imposed section 144 in Bolan, Khuzdar, Harnai, Ziarat, Quetta, and other tourist spots in the province.
Earlier, Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Sarfraz Ali visited Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan and assured complete army support in relief-efforts to the flood-affected areas of Balochistan.
The minister Home and PDMA, Chief Secretary Balochistan and DG PDMA appreciated the assistance of security forces to civil administration for providing maximum and timely relief for the flood-affected areas and population.
The ISPR said that the Corps Commander was given a detailed update on the flood situation in the province and relief activities being undertaken by different institutions.
