CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is ready to unleash havoc on its fans, while also promising more action and carnage in this season. The teaser released by Netflix for the second season makes it clear that this season is absolutely not for younger audiences.
According to details, this ten-episode anime adaptation is currently in production in collaboration with Netflix and Studio Trigger, which also worked on the first season. The story will be different from the first season.
Kai Ikarashi will make his directorial debut with this series, joined by Masahiko Otsuka and lead character designer Kano Ichigo.
The series showrunner, writer, and producer Bartosz Sztybor said, “Traveling once again with the legendary Studio Trigger makes us at CD Projekt Red very excited to present a strange and authentic story of redemption and revenge, something we have never done before.”
Speaking on a panel during Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles (via The Verge), Sztybor said that the show will be “undoubtedly sadder, but also darker, bloodier, and weirder.”
