A curfew has been imposed for a second consecutive day in North Waziristan due to security concerns, as reported by national media.
According to the district administration, the curfew will remain enforced from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in North Waziristan. The administration stated that during the curfew, movement on main roads from Miranshah to Datta Khel, Razmak, Mir Ali, and Bannu will be suspended.
The district administration has stated that the curfew has been imposed due to security concerns. Citizens have been advised to comply with the curfew and use alternative routes.
Notably, the security situation in North Waziristan remains volatile, with a noticeable resurgence in terrorist activity over recent months. Despite numerous military operations conducted in the past to dismantle militant strongholds, the region continues to witness sporadic yet deadly attacks targeting security forces, local leaders, and civilians.
These incidents are often attributed to remnants of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and affiliated groups, which have reportedly regained some footholds in the tribal belt.
The rugged terrain and proximity to the Afghan border provide strategic advantages for insurgent groups to regroup and launch cross-border attacks, complicating efforts to establish lasting peace.
