KARACHI: Crude oil theft continued as tankers mafia has established a new base in Karachi, sources revealed on Wednesday.
According to details, after MM News TV reported on the theft of crude oil at various places on the National Highway, the oil tanker mafia shifted its base to the Northern Bypass, Gulshan Chowk.
Sources said, “Crude oil is being stolen from oil tankers at the new Northern Bypass base without fear before the government’s depot. With the connivance of oil tanker drivers and cleaners, oil worth thousands of rupees is stolen from by breaking the seals on the wall of the tankers,” sources added.
Sources further disclosed, “The mafia by using g fake tanker seals for the purposes that are refilled after the oil is stolen.” For the oil theft, a new base was established in Ittihad Town located within the limits of the same area of the police station, however, with the alleged complicity of the police, this heinous business is increasing day by day.
It may be recalled that even before this, the theft of oil from the private oil company exposed by MM TV news by point out several illegal bases established for the crime. After the reports, the area police in full cooperation with the oil thieves set up a new base under the protection of Ghaggar police station two months ago.
