Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his wish to live permanently in Saudi Arabia, citing the country’s peaceful environment and warm hospitality.
In a video message released by Al Nassr Football Club, Ronaldo expressed that both he and his family feel at home in the Kingdom. “Saudi Arabia is a peaceful and safe country. My family and I feel truly comfortable here, like we are at home,” he said.
The 42-year-old Portuguese forward emphasized that his family has always supported his decisions, and they are collectively happy with their life in Saudi Arabia. “We are very happy here, and that’s why we’ve decided to make this our home,” Ronaldo stated.
After parting ways with Manchester United at the end of 2022, Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr club. He has now extended his contract with the club until 2027, with the official announcement made last Thursday.
Ronaldo reaffirmed his commitment to helping Al Nassr win major titles and revealed that he had declined an invitation to participate in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S., opting instead to rest and focus on preparation.
He also praised the Saudi Pro League, calling it one of the top five leagues in the world, and predicted that the 2034 FIFA World Cup—set to be hosted by Saudi Arabia—would be one of the most beautiful tournaments in history.
Appreciating Saudi culture and hospitality, Ronaldo said, “People here are incredibly loving and kind, which is why I want to live my life here.”
