Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez have made significant changes to their security arrangements in Saudi Arabia.
According to media reports, the couple received threatening messages on social media, prompting them to increase their security and replace their former chief bodyguard and staff.
Ronaldo and Georgina have also reduced their children’s presence on social media and stopped sharing moments from their family life. Saudi police are also cooperating in their enhanced security measures.
A new Chief Security Officer, Claudio Miguel Vez, has been appointed. Vez is regarded as a high-risk protection expert in Portugal. Since joining Al-Nassr Club in 2023, Ronaldo and Georgina have been residing in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo has replaced his former bodyguard with Vez, who has previously protected high-profile individuals, including musicians and footballers from some of Portugal’s most dangerous neighborhoods—such as Rafael Leão and Gelson Martins.
Recently, during Paris Fashion Week, Vez drew attention for using a powerful flashlight to block photographers as Georgina exited her car, which led to some criticism on social media.
