ISLAMABAD: The criminal activities have increased at an alarming rate as gangs of the robber were again fully active in different areas of the federal capital.
Fear gripped the densely-populated localities of the city when a gang of robbers, equipped with lethal weapons, looted two houses, shops and car-riders depriving them of cash.
According to sources, in one month, two robberies took place at Zong Company’s mobile tower in Sector G-Seven. The robbers broke through the four walls of the tower at the company, tortured the security guards, snatched cash and mobile phones.
Sources said Security guards have filed a complaint of the robbery at Aabpara police station, but police have not yet registered an FIR against the burglary.
Muhammad Usman, a security guard stationed at the site by the company, said that at around 2.30 pm last night, six armed robbers climbed over the wall of the tower and entered, tortured him and took Rs 20,000, a mobile phone.
Sources revealed that a number of incidents of car and motorbike theft, home burglaries and snatching at gunpoint took place in the city in recent weeks. Sources further said many people have lost their lives and others have been injured during street crimes.
Citizens requested the authorities to direct the police and other law enforcement agencies to take action against the criminals and provide protection to the people, which was their duty under the law.
