ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported one death in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,535,144. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,393 on Wednesday.
According to the latest figures by the National Institute of Health (NIH), at least 541 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan has conducted 15,462 tests in the past 24 hours out of which 541 persons were tested positive for the disease. The COVID Positivity Ratio was recorded at 3.50 percent.

Pakistan Civil aviation authority (PCAA) has made masks mandatory on domestic flights given a gradual rise in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country, it said in a statement on Monday, while, the apex national coordination body has recommended making it mandatory for people to start wearing masks in public places again.
The order comes a day after Pakistan’s biggest city, Karachi, reported that its COVID-19 positivity ratio, or the rate of positive cases out of all tests conducted, rose to 21% compared with a national rate of 2.8%.
