ISLAMABAD: The PTI-led federal government today (Thursday) has announced that the coronavirus vaccination centres across the country will remain shut during the Eidul Fitr holidays.
According to a notification issued by the health ministry, COVID-19 vaccination centres will remain closed from May 13 to May 15th on the eve of Eidul Fitr. The vaccination centres will resume their operations from 16th of May.
Earlier today, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had announced six-day Eid holidays in the country amid COVID surge besides also adopting a stay home, stay safe strategy.
The NCOC meeting headed by Asad Umar had reviewed oxygen supplies in the country, COVID-19 vaccination process, Eid policy and restrictions on international flights.
“Announcement of Eid Holidays from 10-15 May 2021 — clearly stating intention of reducing national mobility,” the statement from the NCOC said. NCOC has also announced comprehensive guidelines by the name of “STAY HOME-STAY SAFE — Eid-ul-Fitr-2021 from 8-16 May 2021”.
