ADDIS ABABA: The COVID-19 has affected 10,075 people and claimed more than 487 lives in Africa, revealed the Africa Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Africa CDC revealed that 913 people who have been infected with the COVID-19 have recovered across the continent. The confirmed COVID-19 cases were spread across 52 African countries.
According to figures from the Africa CDC, more than 897 new confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported across the continent since 5th April. The confirmed cases have increased from 9,178 yesterday to 10,075. The first coronavirus case was confirmed in Africa on 14th February this year.
The COVID-19 has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. There are now around 1.3 million confirmed cases of coronavirus in 184 countries and more than 70,000 people have died.
The United States has more than twice as many confirmed cases as any other single country and more than half of all the cases have been in Europe, with Spain and Italy worst affected.
