KARACHI: The number of COVID-19 cases has jumped to 5,716 in Pakistan, which has claimed three deaths during the last 24 hours in the country.
According to the latest statistics released by the national dashboard, out of 5,716 infected persons, 1,378 have recovered their health and were discharged from the hospitals across the country, while 46 are still in critical condition.
Punjab is currently the region with the highest number of COVID-19 cases i.e. up to 2,826, 1,452 in Sindh, 800 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 231 in Balochistan, 233 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 131 in Islamabad and 43 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
During the last 24 hours, overall, 3,157 tests were conducted countrywide, to detect the virus. The number of tests conducted so far has increased to 69, 928.
Pakistan has so far reported 96 deaths from the coronavirus. The total number of fatalities due to the deadly virus stands at 35 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 31 in Sindh, 02 in Balochistan, 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 24 in Punjab, 01 in Islamabad Capital Territory.
