A court has directed police to submit the post-mortem report in the Humaira Asghar case within a week.
The directive was issued during a hearing of a petition filed by local citizen Shahzaib Sohail, who sought the registration of a case against the late actress’s family.
According to the petitioner, foul play is suspected in the death of Humaira Asghar, whose body was found under mysterious circumstances earlier this month.
Police submitted a preliminary investigation report to the court, which has now requested the post-mortem findings to help determine the cause of death of Humaira Asghar and assess the claims raised by the petitioner.
Shahzaib alleged that Humaira Asghar’s death was not natural but the result of murder. He argued that police have already termed the incident suspicious and that there is growing public concern surrounding the case.
The petitioner added that Humaira Asghar was a prominent public figure, and that a video related to the incident suggests she may have been murdered.
He also noted that Humaira’s family had reportedly severed ties with her, which he claimed further raises suspicion
