A young couple from Karachi’s Baldia Town has been blessed with quintuplets — three girls and two boys — following an emergency C-section at a local private hospital.
The rare birth, however, has been overshadowed by serious medical concerns, as all five babies were delivered prematurely.
According to doctors, the newborns arrived several weeks before term, resulting in dangerously low birth weights and immediate breathing complications. The infants have since been placed in intensive care, where they remain under constant medical supervision.
“This is our first childbirth, and I never imagined we would be blessed with five children at once,” said the father, Adnan Shaikh. “While we are overjoyed, the hospital expenses are simply beyond what we can afford.”
He appealed to both the public and relevant authorities for financial support to ensure his children receive the critical care they need to survive and recover.
Hospital officials confirmed a slight improvement in the babies’ condition but stressed that ongoing medical attention will be essential over the coming weeks.
Overwhelmed with both gratitude and anxiety, Adnan added, “All I pray for now is their survival and good health. We need help to make that happen.”
