RAWALPINDI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Friday said that corruption has destroyed the image of the country.
Addressing a ceremony in Rawalpindi, Javed Iqbal said that the NAB was trying hard to transform Pakistan into a corruption-free state as it has destroyed the image of the country.
The NAB chairman further said that the bureau performed its role in clearing out corruption from the nation.

According to Iqbal, the NAB has so far recovered 328 billion rupees from the corrupt elements and deposited in the national exchequer.
The NAB chairman added that the bureau has created awareness among the countrymen about corruption and urged the youth to join hands with the NAB for corruption-free, prosperous Pakistan.
He dismissed the impression that the NAB was incapable of investigating white-collar crimes.

The NAB is an autonomous and constitutionally established federal institution responsible to build efforts against corruption and prepare critical national economic intelligence assessments against economic terrorism to the Government of Pakistan.
