ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) senior leader Akram Durrani on November 12 in multiple corruption cases.
Akram Durrani is currently facing probe in connection with assets beyond known sources of income, illegal recruitment, and allotment of plots reserved for a mosque.
The JUI-F leader appeared before the NAB on Friday where he was grilled for over three hours on illegal appointments.
The NAB investigators have questioned him for the appointment of seventy people belonging to his constituency on fake domicile in the housing ministry.

However, the response from Durrani failed to satisfy the NAB officials. He kept insisting that he was being targeted for JUI-F’s Azadi March.
After completing his investigation, he told the media, “I have submitted replies in these cases before. They had to summon me now because our Azadi March dharna has caught everyone’s attention.”
He added, “The Azadi March will look very different after two days.”
He further added, “Discussions will not move forward till PM Imran Khan tenders his resignation. The government cannot scare us with its tactics, we will not bow down to pressure.”
The JUI-F Azadi march is being staged in Islamabad with the aim to remove the incumbent government.
