KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has increased its international relief flights to bring back stranded Pakistanis amid coronavirus pandemic.
According to a spokesperson for the national carrier, a PIA aircraft would bring in Pakistanis stranded in Denmark back home on April 10.
A flight scheduled for April 11 would bring back 175 Pakistanis from Malaysia, and would also take Malaysian and Singaporean embassy staff and passengers along. The spokesperson further informed that another flight scheduled for April 11 will take French passengers back to France.
The national aircraft carrier would also take Japanese passengers along with essential medical supplies to Tokyo, Japan on a special flight on April 12. A special flight will bring back Pakistanis stranded in Thailand on April 13, the spokesperson added.
Earlier on April 7, the national aircraft carrier resumed its flight operation as pilots end strike after PIA’s administration and PALPA (Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association) reached an agreement for the safety measures of aircraft crew amid coronavirus.
The main points of the agreement were that the crew members and pilots of the PIA planes would be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE). The plane will be disinfected and be provided with all preventive equipment,
