KARACHI: Pakistani scientists have warned that the ongoing coronavirus outbreak may worsen after April 26, which has killed almost 130 people across Pakistan.
According to the former vice-chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, the coronavirus pandemic can prove to be even more dangerous from April 26 to May 10.
The former vice-chancellor, Professor Masood Hameed Khan, has said that it took 50 to 60 days for the virus to show its effect in the United States and Europe.
Professor Khan has asserted that the coronavirus pandemic was limited across the globe in the first 50-60 days, after which, it caused a significant number of deaths.
He said, “The cycle of the virus is of 90 days. The virus was reported on Feb 26 in Pakistan, and now nearly 50 days have passed, it could be said that the period extending from April 26 to May 10 can prove to be an alarming period in Pakistan.”
He also appealed to the government of Pakistan to take stern measures as the destruction caused by coronavirus pandemic can create a grave situation.
The Professor also urged the people to follow the precautionary measures and practice social distancing to help prevent the virus from spreading any further.
