PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has declared a lockdown across the province until 28th March to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
According to Advisor Information KP Ajmal Wazir, those travelers who have just entered the province have been shifted to quarantine centre as they could be carrying the disease and need to undergo a period of self-isolation.
The adviser said that people have to take the coronavirus seriously and still have to do more with regard to precautions. He said the protection of people is the top priority of the government.
He further said that the provincial government has taken tough decisions to control the coronavirus and now people should cooperate with the government and take responsibility.
On the other hand, spokesman Balochistan government Liaquat Shahwani said that the government imposed Section 144 in the province for three weeks banning the presence of four or more people together in
Earlier KP government announced to provide free ration to families of coronavirus patients in the province. The measures took up after provincial health minister Taimur Jhagra had confirmed 15 coronavirus patients in the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial relief department’s officials said the ration will be given to those patients who will stay at government quarantine hospitals.
The ration package includes 20 kg flour bag, five kg pulses, 10 kg rice, and milk. The authorities have issued a notification in this regard after endorsement from the chief minister of the province.
