WASHINGTON: The global number of confirmed COVID-19 cases exceeded 7.9 million with over 435,000 fatalities.
Around the world, the pandemic has killed more than 435,593 people and infected over 7,995,393. According to the latest data, 4,110,038 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
In the United States, nearly 2,162,144 cases were confirmed, including more than 117,853 deaths. Brazil now has the second-highest number of recorded infections in the world after the United States with 867,882 cases and 43,389 fatalities.
Over 528,964 people have infected while 6,948 people died of the virus in Russia. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
India has reported 333,008 cases while 9,520 deaths due to the coronavirus. The United Kingdom has reported 41,698 fatalities and 295,889 infections.
Spain has recorded 27,136 fatalities and 291,008 infections. Italy has 34,345 fatalities, while 236,989 infections.
Peru has reported 229,736 cases while 6,688 deaths. Germany has reported 8,870 deaths and 187,671 infections.
Meanwhile, the death toll is 8,837 in Iran as a confirmed number of cases is almost 187,427. Turkey reported 178,239 coronavirus cases and 4,807 fatalities.
France has reported 29,407 deaths and 157,220 cases. China has to date declared 4,634 deaths and 83,181 cases, with 78,370 recoveries.
In Belgium, 9,655 people succumbed to the disease while reported 60,029 cases due to the coronavirus. Mexico has reported 17,141 deaths and 146,837 cases.
Canada reported 8,146 fatalities and 98,787 infections due to coronavirus. Israel has reported 19,055 coronavirus cases while 300 deaths.
