ISLAMABAD: A further 46 people have died in Pakistan due to the coronavirus and 1,644 new cases have been reported.
According to the National Command and Control Center, the total number of deaths from coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 11,560 while the total number of affected people has reached 541,031.
In the country, 496,745 people have recovered from coronavirus and the number of patients under treatment is 33,726. The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 41,176, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 66,451, Sindh 244,340, Punjab 156,404, Balochistan 18,798, Azad Kashmir 8,953, and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,909.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was in Punjab where 4,681 people lost their lives while Sindh lost 3,969, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,879, Islamabad 476, Gilgit-Baltistan 102, Balochistan 194, and Azad Kashmir 259. During the second wave of coronavirus, the number of positive cases dropped significantly to 3.9 percent. The situation returned to pre-November 10 levels.

According to the National Command and Operations Center, the rate of positive cases of coronavirus in Karachi is 10.68 percent. The overall positive case rate in Islamabad is 1.18 percent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5.25 percent, Punjab 5.97 percent, and Sindh overall 10.23 percent. In Azad Kashmir, the positive cases of coronavirus are 5.97 percent, in Balochistan 3.52 percent, and in Gilgit-Baltistan 0.56 percent
