WASHINGTON: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has crossed 4.6 million worldwide.
Around the world, the pandemic has killed more than 308,645 people and infected over 4,628,549. The United States has been the hardest-hit country, with 1,484,285 cases and 88,507 deaths.

Canada reported 5,562 fatalities and 74,613 infections due to coronavirus. Italy has 31,610 fatalities, with 172 people succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.
Spain has recorded 27,459 fatalities with 123 deaths in a single day and 274,367 infections. China has to date declared 4,633 deaths and 82,941 cases, with 78,219 recoveries.
France has reported 348 deaths in a single day, taking the tally to 27,529 deaths and 179,506 cases. The United Kingdom has reported 33,998 fatalities with 627 deaths in the last 24 hours and 236,711 infections.
Saudi Arabia has reported 49,176 cases of coronavirus, while 292 coronavirus deaths have been reported. Kuwait has reported 96 deaths while over 12,860 people have been tested positive for the virus.
Turkey reported 146,457 coronavirus cases and 4,055 fatalities. In Belgium, 8,959 people succumbed to the disease while Brazil reported 14,962 deaths due to the coronavirus.
Mexico has reported 353 deaths in a single day, taking the tally to 4,767 deaths and 45,032 cases. Germany has reported 8,001 deaths and 175,699 infections.
Over 262,843 people have infected while 2,418 people died of the virus in Russia. Israel has reported 16,589 coronavirus cases while 266 deaths.
