KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose to 3,658 on Monday after new cases were reported in the country.
According to government data, 1,816 cases were registered in Punjab, 932 in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 405, Balochistan 198, Gilgit-Baltistan 210, Islamabad 82 and Azad Kashmir 15.
As many as 52 people have died of COVID-19 since its outbreak in the country, which includes 17 in Sindh, 15 in Punjab, KP 16, Balochistan 01, and 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile, 257 people have recovered, while 1285 coronavirus patients were hospitalized and 17 of them are in serious condition.
The authorities have also increased the testing facilities and a total of 35,875 tests have so far been conducted. Isolation facilities have been set up in 462 hospitals in different areas of the country.
Global virus cases cross 1 million, death toll passes 65,000
According to media reports, more than 1.21 million people have been reported infected by the novel COVID-19 across the world and 65,810 have died.
Infections have been reported in more than 200 countries and territories since the first cases were emerged in China in 2019.
