The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged past 450 as Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Punjab have reported new cases today (Thursday).
According to the provided details from all the provincial health ministries, almost 116 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in 24 hours across the country. After these cases, the national tally has risen to 451.
Sindh has remained the most affected province in Pakistan from coronavirus as 32 new cases were confirmed in Karachi, taking the provincial tally to 245.
According to Meeran Yousuf, media coordinator for the Sindh health department 28 cases were confirmed in Karachi, and soon 4 new cases were reported in the city, bringing the city tally to 93.
So far, two deaths from the coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan, both from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
‘Gilgit Baltistan’
According to the health department of GB, today, eight new cases of coronavirus have been detected.
After these new cases, the total number of the region increased to 21. The focal person of GB health department said that samples of 82 suspected patients were being tested.
‘Punjab’
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has announced that 45 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the province.
This brings the provincial tally to 78.
‘Balochistan’
Liaquat Shahwani – Balochistan government spokesperson, has confirmed 31 new cases of coronavirus in the province, taking the provincial tally to 76.
“The new patients are being taken to Sheikh Zayed Hospital,” he said. He also said that the new cases had emerged from the Mian Ghundi quarantine centre.
