KARACHI: The confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to 487, as Sindh, Gilgit Baltistan and Punjab have reported new cases today (Friday).
According to the provided details from all the provincial health departments, almost 13 new coronavirus cases were reported in 24 hours across the country.
Sindh remained the most affected province from coronavirus as 11 new cases were reported in Karachi today (Friday).
According to the media coordinator of Sindh Health Department, all 11 persons belonged to Karachi hence these were cases of local transmission.
Earlier today, Sindh has reported its first death from coronavirus in Karachi. The patient was a 77-year-old man and was a cancer survivor.
‘10 doctors suspected to have virus moved into isolation’
At least 10 doctors at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Karachi have been moved to isolation over the suspicion that they are infected with the novel coronavirus. The doctors have been advised to self-isolate at their homes.
Officials said that the doctors in isolation have been referred to the screening department, following which they would likely undergo further tests.
‘Gilgit Baltistan’
Gilgit-Baltistan has reported nine new cases of the coronavirus, taking the region tally to 30.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan confirmed that one person among the affected does not have any travel history.
While eight other persons who tested positive for the virus are Taftan pilgrims.
He also informed that the results for 182 persons who were tested for the virus are yet to come.
‘Punjab’
Punjab today (Friday) also confirmed two more cases of coronavirus in the province.
