KARACHI: Noor Jehan, a 17-year-old ailing elephant at the Karachi Zoo, fell into a pond inside her enclosure on Thursday, worsening her already severe physical trauma. The incident occurred at 7:30 am and required the use of a crane, ropes, and belts to lift her out of the cemented pond.

Noor Jehan has been an intensive care patient for the past three months, and her muscle mass has shrunk, her spine appears disfigured, and her legs are crooked.
Last week, Four Paws, an international animal welfare organization, sent a team of vets to treat the elephant. During their visit, they found that Noor Jehan had suffered an injury in the last few months, leading to internal bleeding and a hematoma in her abdomen.
The team treated the elephant with medication and gave the zoo a set of directions to follow, but it appears that the zoo has failed to follow these measures.
According to the latest reports from MM News, Noor Jehan is propped up against a mound of sand inside her enclosure and appears lifeless. Her eyes are only half open, and she has barely any movement. The situation is dire for the ailing elephant, and urgent intervention is necessary to save her life.
