Collective efforts are dire need to combat coronavirus disease: Nishtar

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar on Friday said the war against coronavirus is a new type of war, so collective efforts are dire need of the hour to win it successfully.

Sania Nishtar urged the nation to fully assist the government by following all required protective steps to overpower coronavirus spread.

Talking to media, she said the government is paying extraordinary attention towards daily wage earners and is dedicated to widening the scope of their social protection.

She said all the almonries and shelter homes will remain opened to assist the poor, however, protective steps will be ensured there to handle the diseases.

The minister said the government will also prolong interest-free loans under the Ehsaas program to the deserving people coming at the loan centers.

She also urged the need for paying much attentiveness on ensuring the stipulation of standardized medicines to the patients across the country.

Dr Sania Nishtar said the government has formed an economic task force to check and control economic effects due to the coronavirus outbreak.
