Coldplay was the musical guests on Saturday Night Live as British band was joined by Jacob Collier and the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers, an uber-talented choir of Black women and men from across the country.
Coldplay was confirmed to be the musical guests on the Pedro Pascal-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live last month. ‘Everyday Life’ from their album of the same name as well as ‘Orphans’ were performed by the band on SNL in November 2019 during their previous appearance.
Before a mash-up of the classic “X&Y” song “Fix You” and the song “Human Heart” from “Music Of The Spheres,” Coldplay debuted their collaboration with BTS’ Jin, “The Astronaut,” on stage yesterday.
Late last month, Coldplay took to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform ‘Clocks’ in honor of the show’s 20th anniversary.
Coldplay recently announced four new shows in North America with tickets on sale now. The band are also set to tour Europe and the UK after returning to South America for a series of rescheduled headline gigs.
The band has also hinted that their forthcoming album, “Moon Music,” is almost complete. Chris Martin, the band’s frontman, said: “We’re wrapping on an album called ‘Moon Music,’ which is the second volume of ‘Music Of The Spheres,’ but that won’t be released for a little while. This year, we might start performing some songs.”
