The temperature in Islamabad reached freezing point on Tuesday morning, according to data from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
PMD stated that the weather is likely to remain cold and dry throughout the day in Islamabad. Heading further north, areas like Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding regions will experience even colder temperatures.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather will also remain extremely cold today, the PMD added.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in the hilly areas, the weather will be extremely cold and dry, while fog is expected in the plains during the early hours.
Punjab will experience similar conditions, with cold weather expected across most districts, along with fog and haze in the upper districts during the morning. Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur are likely to have light fog on Tuesday.
Most districts of Sindh will see cold and dry weather, while light fog is predicted for Sukkur, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Mohenjo-daro, and surrounding areas.
Northern districts of Balochistan will remain extremely cold, with dry and cold weather expected throughout the region, PMD reported.
Over the past 24 hours, temperatures in various areas have been recorded as follows: Chitral, Abbottabad, Rawalakot, and Murree at -1°C; Bagrot, Gilgit, and Hunza at -2°C; Dir at -3°C; Malam Jabba, Astore, and Quetta at -4°C; Skardu and Kalat at -5°C; Gupis-Yasin at -7°C; and Layyah at -13°C.
