ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi announced that the condition of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) for all the buyers will be enforced by next month.
While talking to media in Islamabad Shabbar Zaidi said the condition of CNIC on the buy of over 50,000 rupees was never dismissed, adding that the traders are supporting with the government, the condition of showing of Computerized National Identity Card will be imposed from February.
He said the Federal Board of Revenue officials continually taking efforts in many sectors to bring the transparent system, adding that from where the taxes are being accumulated but not being received by the government.
The government had faced reprisal from the businessmen, last year, when it imposed the mandatory condition of showing CNIC over the buy of Rs.50000.
on July 23, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced to compulsory for all buyers to show their Computer National Identity Card (CNIC) while making purchases over Rs50,000 from a sales tax registered person.
The FBR further detailed the new condition in a sales tax notification on Monday which referred to the amendments being made to the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
