Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the laptop scheme in Faisalabad, here on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Maryam Nawaz said that 100 percent merit was strictly followed in the scholarships. “If you are on merit, you will get the scholarship.” She shared an inspiring story about a girl who was asked to drop out of school due to lack of resources but decided to continue her education after getting the scholarship.
Expressing her emotional connection with the students, she said, “I used to cry only when my mother died or when my father went to the hospital. Now when I see you every day, I feel like crying.”
Maryam Nawaz said that I tell the opposition to come and see how a mother here has bonded with her children. You don’t need to thank me. It was your right, it has been fulfilled. Today, the state is feeling like a mother.
She shared a heart-touching story of a child who had stopped his education due to lack of resources but now has the opportunity to continue on a scholarship. “I have been through your age. I too had dreams of achieving something and no child’s dream should remain unfulfilled due to lack of resources.
Maryam Nawaz added that she is determined to make dreams come true through quality education. “This year, we provided 30,000 scholarships, and next year we aim to provide 50,000. To make this possible, I will invest the entire Punjab budget in this effort.”
