ISLAMABAD: Citizens from all over Pakistan have staged a protest in front of the National Press Club against a private company, accusing it of cheating the public at large under the garb of offering lucrative business.
According to details, the protestors have alleged that the company, identified as Lasani Group of Companies, had lured the public to invest in their business with the promise of providing unrealistic profits and returns.
Talking to M.M. News, The protestors further said that the company after collection of millions of rupees disappeared and did not provide any returns or profits to the investors as per the commitment.
One of the protestors claimed that he came to know about the company and its owner, CEO Khubaib Saqi Gujjar through social media. He said, “I trusted him because I saw his pictures with several political leaders.”
“We were told that the company was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). We believed and invested in it for a better future for our children. However, we lost all of our hard-earned money,” they added.
The protestors have appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan and relevant authorities to take action against the company and return their investments.
