KARACHI: The canals of Sindh capital have been overflowed while roads resembled ponds as the rain in the city continues to pour.
According to the details, light and heavy rain is continuing in Karachi again from this morning. Roads flooded in Landhi, Korangi and Defense due to rain. Streets and markets took the form of rivers.
Underpasses of various roads were filled with water. Citizens’ vehicles and motorcycles were completely submerged in water. Gulshan-e-Hadid, Sumar Goth and Jokhio Goth were submerged due to flooding in Korangi river. Mehmoodabad canal also overflowed.
The water of Mehmoodabad canal entered the admin society. Korangi is completely closed for traffic due to high water flow. The road leading to Stadium Road, Defense and Akhtar Colony was flooded. The road connected to Shadman Town drain was closed.
Roads from Tower to Tibet Center were completely submerged in water. Apart from Karachi, the rains also wreaked havoc in other cities. In Rawalpindi, vehicles were swept away in water. Streets turned into rivers and canals.
Vehicles started floating in Jama Masjid Road, College Road and Sadar. Rains also wreaked havoc in Thatta. The city was completely submerged by torrential rains in the Gharo hills. The citizens were forced to relocate. There is a flood situation in the Hub as well. The land connection from Karachi to Balochistan was cut off.
Rain also wreaked havoc in various cities of Punjab. The streets and markets of Gujarat were flooded. Vehicles and motorcycles were answered. Due to heavy rain in Islamabad, the water in Rawal Dam has reached the highest level of 1,750 feet.
