A special court hearing cipher case against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi is likely to indict them today.
The court on Monday (today) has begun the hearing of the case. As the court started hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawyers filed a new petition against the possible indictment.
Judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain arrived at the jail early on Monday along with Federal Investigation Agency Prosecutor Shah Khawar for the hearing.
The last hearing was held on October 17 for indicting Khan and Qureshi. However, the indictment was delayed as challan copies had not been distributed to the accused. Both politicians had refused to sign or receive the challans at the previous hearing. The hearing was then adjourned till October 23.
The case is registered under the Official Secrets Act and accuses Khan of divulging the contents of a classified cipher written by Pakistan’s ambassador in Washington.
