As Karachi prepares to host two major Chup Tazia processions on 8th Rabi ul Awwal, significant traffic disruptions are expected throughout the day. The processions, which commemorate a significant event in Islamic history, will impact several key roads and thoroughfares across the city.
Karachi Processions:
The first procession will begin at 6:30 AM from Nashtar Park and is expected to conclude by 11:00 AM. The route includes major areas such as Numaish, Saddar, MA Jinnah Road, Kharadar, and will affect several roads including Lyari Expressway, Lasbela towards Nishtar Road, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
To mitigate the impact of these disruptions, commuters are advised to use alternate routes, which will remain clear from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Suggested detours include Lyari Expressway, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
The second procession will start at 1:00 PM and continue until midnight. It will pass through Rizvia Chowrangi, Nazimabad, Teenhatti, PIB Colony, and other major areas, affecting routes such as Jail Road and Yadgar Fish turning at Jamshed Road. For this procession, alternative routes from 10:00 AM to midnight include Shahrah-e-Faisal, MA Jinnah Road, and Garden to Bara Board.

- Kashmir Road, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, and Jail Flyover are available for general travel.
- Nishtar Road towards the Garden area is accessible for those traveling from Nazimabad to Lasbela Chowk.
- Liaquatabadto Teen Hatti, Lasbela Chowk, and Central Jail routes remain open.
- Society Light Signalto Numaish via Kashmir Road is an option.
- Gurumandir to Bahadur Yar Jung Road and Soldier Bazaar roads are open for travel.
Rawalpindi Procession:
In Rawalpindi, the Chup Tazia procession will commence from Imambargah Syed Hifazat Ali Shah at Bohar Bazar near Lal Haveli at 2:00 PM. To accommodate the procession, Bohar Bazar, Iqbal Road, Alam Khan Road (Committee Chowk), and College Road will be closed to traffic until 11:00 PM.
Residents and commuters in Rawalpindi are advised to use alternative routes to avoid these areas. The affected roads are critical for local traffic, and the closures may lead to significant congestion in surrounding areas.
Lahore:
