Chinese envoy Yao Jing calls on COAS Bajwa

RAWALPINDI: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.

According to Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR), COAS Bajwa and the Chinese ambassador Jing exchanged views on regional security, coronavirus pandemic and other matters related to mutual interests.

The army chief thanked the Chinese government for the provision of medical equipment to Pakistan on an emergency basis.

COAS Bajwa also praised Beijing’s cooperation and the arrival of Chinese medical experts in Pakistan. DG ISPR said that the Chinese envoy assured to support Pakistan on every forum.

Earlier, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has said that the Chinese government was thankful to Pakistan for showing solidarity in a difficult time of the epidemic.

While addressing a seminar in Islamabad, Yao Jing said that the coronavirus threat would not stop the economic cooperation between China and Pakistan.

He further said that he was thankful for the Pakistani people for providing China strength and more confidence in its tough times.

Yao Jing said that after six years of implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the CPEC had become an international plan. According to Jing, the CPEC project provided credible and tangible benefits to the beneficiary’s countries.
