Inflation in Pakistan
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), headline inflation dropped to 4.9% year-on-year in November 2024, aligning with the Monetary Policy Committee’s expectations. This decline was primarily due to a reduction in food inflation and the diminishing impact of the gas tariff hike in November 2023.
However, the central bank highlighted that core inflation remains stubborn at 9.7%, while inflation expectations among consumers and businesses continue to fluctuate.
