Celebrities and sportsmen have condemned the assassination bid on the life of former Prime Minister Imran Khan during the long march in Gujranwala on Thursday.
The former Prime Minster has sustained bullet injuries during the attack, while 6 other PTI leaders including Senator Faisal Javed have also been injured. The former Premier was shifted to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital, Lahore.
Wasim Akram, a former cricket player who partnered with Khan when they won the 1992 World Cup, expressed his shock and dismay at what had happened.

Zimbabwean scholar Mufti Menk said he was saddened and shocked at the incident. “Violence in all forms is totally wrong and unacceptable, no matter what our differences may be.”
