LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umer Sheikh has landed in another controversy after he allegedly abuses a woman who had called him on his cell phone.
The CCPO has been in the limelight ever since the Lahore Motorway gang rape when he made incentive remarks on the rape victim and later due to his dispute with the former provincial chief.
However, an audio recording has surfaced and being shared widely on social media in which Sheikh could be heard hurling abuses at the woman. The woman Naila had filed a complaint with allegations like the abduction of her husband, his illegal detention, and coercing them into selling their house to pay a bribe of at least two million rupees for his release.
She confirmed that CCPO Sheikh had hurled abuses at her. Upon contacting him for his comment, CCPO did not respond. However, sources in the CCPO office rejected the allegation as another accusation against him.

Moreover, last week, he had ordered the registration of a case against a senior police officer and exchanged harsh words with him during a meeting at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority. CCPO also faced criticism when a foreign-educated police officer resigned after he abused him in a meeting.
