ISLAMABAD: The working hours of cattle markets have been fixed during a meeting of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) from 6 am to 7 pm.
The NCOC meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in which Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Provincial Chief Secretaries participated through video link.
Asad Umar informed the participants of the meeting that the screening would be done at the entrances of cattle markets. Around 700 cattle markets have been set up across the country and will be further expanded.

Umar said that the movement of cattle and people between villages and cities could lead to the spread of coronavirus. Better management of livestock markets is essential to prevent the spread of coronavirus, he added.
The federal minister directed that no one would be allowed to set up a cattle market inside the city. During the NCOC meeting, the participants were informed that SOPs have been provided to all the concerned persons and they have also been directed to implement them.
Umar said that the use of masks in cattle markets and social distances would be ensured in all circumstances. He said that 300,000 people have been rescued from the coronavirus through a smart lockdown and the NCOC pointed out the rapid spread of the virus in three cities.
