LAHORE: A case has been registered against the guards of former Punjab Minister Salman Rafique for torturing an army officer in Lahore.
According to the statement given to the police by the plaintiff, Chaudhry Rashid Mahmood and his son Harris, who is an army officer were traveling to Iqbal Town for Iftar when a Land Cruiser overtook his car near Cavalry Ground.
Chaudhry Rashid Mahmood said that the guards on Land Cruise insulted his son and when Major Harris introduced himself, the accused got angry and beat him. He said that when his son tried to flee from the scene to save his life, the accused grabbed him again in front of Masood Hospital and smashed his car windows while Major Harris was also attacked with iron rods.
He said that the attackers also snatched his son’s phone. According to sources, those responsible for the incident have been identified. The accused were guards of former provincial minister Khawaja Salman Rafique. Legal action should be taken against him while no statement was made by the Pakistan Army spokesman regarding the torture of the army officer.

In this regard, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the material spread on social media by PTI trolls and their support channel on the officer of an intelligence agency in his presence regarding violence by his guards is baseless lies and nonsense. It should be noted that he was without guards. “I have nothing to do with any such incident,” he said.
