ISLAMABAD: Police on Tuesday arrested four primary suspects involved in harassment of foreign tourists including women in Shakarparian on August 14.
The police have also seized video clips which the harassers had recorded and posted on social media.
Notably, the suspects appearing in videos of the vile act are being identified with the help of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Earlier, foreign women were harassed for hours during their visit to Shakarparian. Even on the occasion of Independence Day, police personnel were not deployed to protect families and tourists visiting the popular tourist destination.
The local police station, Abpara police station, registered case number 708/22 under sections 354/509/147/149 in the complaint of sub-inspector Asif Ali.
IG Islamabad termed the act as deplorable and criminal.
