ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has restrained the police from making arrests in a case registered against the Baloch students and the case has also been dismissed.
On March 1, Quaid-e-Azam University students were protesting against the alleged enforced disappearance of their colleague Abdul Hafeez Baloch from Balochistan when police charged him with batons, injuring several students.
The police had registered a case and sealed the FIR of the case. However, on the order of the court, the accused were provided a copy of the FIR of the case.
The FIR alleged that Shah Qamar Baloch and Iman Mazari had provoked the protesters, after which the protesters chanted slogans against the forces and later attacked the police and district administration personnel present there, injuring three policemen.
During the hearing of the case, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah remarked that Baloch students should be listened to and there should be leaflets of rebellion against those who suppress their voice.
On the occasion, Deputy Attorney General Syed Muhammad Tayyab Shah told the court that the FIR registered against Imaan Mazari and Baloch students has been canceled. Following the statement to cancel the FIR, the court disposed of the application for dismissal of the case.
