Qalat: Car bomb detonated in an Afghan city in Southern Afghanistan ended up killing 20 people and injuring 95. Taliban has accepted the responsibility of the attack.
A car bomb outside Afghan city’s hospital was detonated on Thursday morning. The officials have stated that bomb exploded close to the national Intelligence department’s building.
An official from the country’s Defence Ministry has said that terrorists wanted to target the training center of country’s powerful National Directorate of Security but parked the vehicle outside of the hospital’s gate.
Haji Atta Jan Haqbayan, a member of the provincial council in Qalat, said 20 people have been killed and 95 are wounded, however, all the victims have been evacuated from the blast site.
Haqbayan said the wall of the NDS building was damaged. However, he couldn’t say whether personnel were among the affectees.
“The number of casualties may rise as rescue teams and people are still searching the bodies under the rubble,” he said.
Several women, children, health workers and patients in the hospital were critically injured the blast.
